November is my favorite month. The heat has finally packed its bags. The mornings are cool enough for a sweater (for about 40 minutes). And everyone's thinking about what they're grateful for.

So let me share mine.

What I'm grateful for this year

Five-star client review dated June 4, 2025, praising Tina’s communication and help with an out-of-state first home purchase

I'm grateful for every family who let me be part of their move. For the first-time buyers who were nervous and did it anyway. For the sellers who trusted me with the home where they raised their kids. And for the people who ghosted me and then came back months later saying, "Okay, now we're ready." (I saw you. I'm glad you're back.)

I'm also grateful for my oven. It has worked very hard.

The kitchen table matters most

Here's something I've noticed after walking through a lot of homes. People fall in love with pools and big closets and fancy finishes. But when they move in, the place that becomes the heart of the house is almost always the kitchen table.

That's where homework happens. Where bills get paid. Where someone spills juice, and someone else laughs, and somebody tells a story they'll tell again at every Thanksgiving forever.

So when you're shopping for a home, think about where your table will go. Picture the people around it. It's a better test than counting outlets.

A simple gratitude tradition for your home

Here's one I love, and it involves pretzels (of course):

  1. Bake a batch of soft pretzels.
  2. Set them in the middle of the table.
  3. Before anyone grabs one, everyone shares one thing they're grateful for.
  4. Then eat. Quickly. While they're warm.

It's silly, it's sweet, and kids love it.

For anyone still dreaming of their own table

If you're renting and hoping for your own place, I want you to know it's possible. It might take a little planning. It might take a little saving. But you don't have to figure it out alone. My free first-time buyer webinar at the bottom of this post is a calm, easy place to start.

Fair warning: you will want pretzels immediately.

The bottom line

Houses are made of wood and drywall and, in Arizona, a lot of stucco. Homes are made of the people and moments inside. I'm so grateful I get to help with both.

Easy question: what's one thing about your home that you're grateful for this year? Big or small, I'd love to hear it.
